Course Overview

This course provides an in-depth exploration of sinus and temporomandibular joint (TMJ) assessment and treatment techniques. Designed for healthcare professionals, it covers diagnostic evaluations, manual therapy techniques, and patient education strategies to improve sinus function and TMJ health.

Course Objectives

Day 1: Sinus Diagnosis and Treatment

  1. Observation & Assessment of Sinuses
    • Visual examination and functional assessment.
  2. Palpation Techniques
    • External and intraoral palpation.
    • Evaluation of Chapman points for sinus dysfunction and treatment approaches.
  3. Intraoral Sinus Treatment
    • Techniques for internal release and drainage improvement.
  4. Scar Tissue Release
    • Addressing restrictions affecting sinus function.
  5. Chapman Points Release for Neck and Chest
    • Manual therapy techniques to relieve sinus-related dysfunction.
  6. Neck Re-Assessment
    • Post-treatment evaluation of changes in sinus function.

Day 2: TMJ Treatment

  1. Initial TMJ Evaluation and Assessment
    • Identifying dysfunctions and common symptoms.
  2. Active and Passive Movement Assessment
    • Evaluating joint range of motion and restrictions.
  3. Palpation of Joints, Muscles, and Ligaments
    • Identifying areas of tension and dysfunction.
  4. TMJ Testing
    • Functional and structural tests for accurate diagnosis.
  5. Treatment for Acute and Chronic TMJ Conditions
    • Releasing muscles of mastication, including major and minor pterygoids.
    • Realignment techniques for improved function.
  6. Post-Traumatic Patient Education
    • Guidance on maintaining TMJ health and preventing recurrence.
